Welcome

Welcome to the New Brunswick All Terrain Vehicle Federation website.

The New Brunswick All Terrain Vehicle Federation is the ATV Trail Manager for NB, and is responsible for the management of ATV trails in the province.

Safe and responsible ATV use doesn't just happen! It is the direct result of several years of focused effort of a dedicated group of volunteer members, with a view towards the development of an all season recreational activity second to none.

The NBATVF is a non profit organization consisting of 60 clubs throughout the province focused on the development of safe and responsible ATV use. The Public Safety Task Force, environmental concerns, and a negative public opinion of ATVs,has resulted in the formation, organization and management of a responsible federation of member clubs in a few short years.

Policies and management come directly from our Fredericton office, however it is important to note and recognize that the result of safe managed trails is due to the ongoing effort and dedication of our volunteer members.

As an advocacy group acting on behalf of it's members, the NBATVF is an active participant in several government initiatives, thus protecting the rights of ATV riders in our province. The Trust Fund Advisory Board, Provincial ATV Safety Committee, and the ongoing application of the ATV Task Force recommendations are just a few.

We are presently involved in assisting in the formation of a Provincial Trails Authority and a Rider Safety Awareness program, with a focus on grass roots education at the classroom level.

It is also important to note that the NBATVF is an active participant on a national level representing New Brunswick on a board addressing issues that impact ATV development Canada wide. Several concerns have been identified, namely Insurance Liability, land use and access, safety and awareness programs, and supporting legislative changes.

As a direct result of recommendations of the ATV Task Force in 2002, the Federation has developed a strong partnership with the government to develop an ATV managed trail system on Crown Land, funding through a registration rebate, and the legislation to support these important initiatives. This phenominal growth of an industry, can be attributed to the ability of the Federation to form solid partnertships with government and the private sector.
